Monday Morning Coffeehouse in Fellowship Hall 8 - 10 AM Public Welcome Coffee, tea, juice, donuts and good conversation each Monday.

Wednesday - Family Night Out (Except for Holiday Break)
6:00 PM - Evening meal in Fellowship Hall - Open to Community - (Donations Accepted) Followed by other activities: 7:00 PM - Club 4:12, God Squad, and Choir practice at 7:45-8:30 pm Thursday - Adult Bible Study - 7:00 pm Check with office to see what is the current study.

Women's Fellowship - United Methodist Women - Monthly meetings include educational programs, devotions, fellowship and mission.
The regular UMW meeting is held on the first Thursday of the month at 1:30 PM at the church unless "specified different location".

Women of Promise - Monthly Event the third Tuesday of each month except Nov. and Dec. The event includes light meal, speaker, music and fellowship. Open to all women of the community and surrounding area.
Cantrall

A class for all!
Chili and Vegetable Beef Soup supper is being held at Cantrall United Methodist Church on North Route 29 in Cantrall, Saturday February 13th. Serving hours are 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm. The meal includes choice of chili or vegetable beef soup, chicken salad sandwiches, hot dogs, dessert and drink. Carry outs will be available.
The Women’s group will also have a country store featuring baked goods.
"The Cantrall Kids Choir" is for 3rd grade on up with practice at 10:10 AM Sunday Morning They are practicing hard and will soon be singing for church service.

Coffee Cup - Thursday Morning 8:00 - 10:00 AM
Everyone is invited for Coffee, Donuts & Fellowship

Family Fellowship
The church offers Sunday evening potluck dinners occasionally and an annual church picnic.

Women's Fellowship - United Methodist Women
Monthly meetings include educational programs, devotions, fellowship and mission. The regular UMW meeting is held on the second Monday of the month at the Church at 7:00 pm.

Children's Ministries
Special Sprouts meet Weekly on Wednesdays (During school year) 3:00-5:00 PM
Children learn Bible stories, have treats, sing and play games.

Confirmation classes

Confirmation classes will begin in January. This is for youth that are 6th grade and older (up to 19 years of age) who have not yet taken the course.
If your child is to be in the 2010 Confirmation Class, please contact Pastor Gloria to register. Classes last approximately 10 weeks. There are 13 lessons. Those who complete the classes may become full members of his/her church.
Parents are required to attend the first 15 minutes of first session to get an overview of lessons and expectations. The first session will be announced in the December newsletter.

Men's Fellowship
United Methodist Men meet the third Monday of each month at Cantrall at 7:30 PM. All men of the Athens and Cantrall Charge are welcome.

Youth Fellowship

Senior Hi UMYF and Jr. Hi UMYF meet on the first Sunday and third Sunday evenings at 7:00 pm alternating between the Athens and Cantrall churches, Athens on the first Sunday and Cantrall on the third. This fellowship is for all youth 6th grade and up.

Bible Studies
Bible studies are also a shared ministry.
Basic Bible Study           
Study began September 24 at 7pm Cantrall UMC
Everyone welcome!
Come as you are. Bring any Bible you own. Lasts 1 hour. Study lasts 8 weeks.

A new group of fitness-minded Menard County residents are inviting others to join them walking, running, cycling, and seeking to be of service to the community. “Fit-4-Him” is open to anyone interested in physical activities and making new friends, and is sponsored by Athens & Cantrall United Methodist Churches.

Meet at the Athens Sports Complex at 6 AM almost every morning to WALK two miles with Mary and Jenifer Johnson.
Bike Rides
Our new fitness-minded group is still bike riding as weather permits.
If you would like to be on the email list to receive updates about when and where we are riding,
please call Mary at 691-6125.
Youth under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all cyclists must wear helmets.

Vacation Bible School
One week in the summer alternating each year from Athens to Cantrall. Athen's next turn is in 2010. Cantrall's next turn is in 2011.
