Call to Worship:
Leader: Remembering the past–the tragedy, the terror, the helplessness–we cry out to God
People: Comfort us, O God, and grant us your peace
Leader: Looking to the future and praying for a world of peace, we cry out to God
People: Strengthen us, O God, and grant us your peace

Opening Prayer: O God, we come to you remembering events of the past and hoping for the future. At the center of our hope is a longing for a world of peace. We know and trust that peace comes only from you. And so, as we worship, allow us to trust in you more and in ourselves less. God, we come to you in faith and hope; in the name of Jesus, AMEN.

Prayer of Thanksgiving: God of grace and mercy, we give you thanks for your great love. In that love, you have invited us to be instruments you may use for your work in this world. We offer ourselves now, along with our gifts, to you for your work and your pleasure. Use us as only you can; for your glory and your name’s sake. We make our offering in Christ’s name, AMEN.
